Port Canaveral to Orlando Airport: shuttle, Uber or private van?

You have four choices: a shared shuttle ($19.99 to $29.99 per person), a cruise-line bus ($45 per guest on Disney Cruise Line), an Uber or taxi (about $95 to $120 per Uber XL, or about $115 by taxi), or a private van for your group alone. As MCO's cruise transfer page puts it, taxis charge per trip while shuttles charge per person, so your group size decides the cheapest option.

Shared fares as published by Orlando Port Shuttles, Go Port and Disney Cruise Line; Uber figures are RideWise estimates. Checked October 2026.

  • 1 to 4 travelers: a shared shuttle or an off-peak UberX ($62 to $78) is usually cheapest, and we will tell you so.
  • 6 travelers: a JOB minivan costs less than six Go Port seats, and about what one surged Uber XL costs.
  • 8 to 14 travelers: a 12-passenger van at $229 beats Go Port from 8 riders and every shared fare from 10, and nobody waits for other passengers.

Shuttles run on a schedule: Orlando Port Shuttles leaves at 8, 9 and 10 AM, and Go Port runs from 7:00 AM until debarkation ends. More in Uber vs a private van, or read is there a free shuttle?

What time should your flight be after a Port Canaveral cruise?

Book a flight at noon or later. That gives most groups time for debarkation, the 45 to 60 minute drive and MCO security. Most ships dock between 6:00 and 7:00 AM, according to the Port's 2026 master cruise schedule.

A quick check: add your walk-off time, about 30 minutes to meet your driver and load bags, 45 to 60 minutes of driving, and 2 hours at the airport, as the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority recommends. Walk off with your own bags at 8:00 AM and an 11:30 AM flight is comfortable; wait for tagged luggage until 9:30 AM and plan on 1:00 PM or later.

Where does your driver meet you at Port Canaveral?

Your driver meets you in the Port's designated pickup area outside your cruise terminal. Give us your ship's name and we will know your terminal. Port rules say every commercial fare must be pre-arranged and pre-paid, so book before you sail.

Car seats, and staying on in Orlando

Car seats on debarkation day

We carry seats and boosters for each child's age and size for the ride to MCO, so you don't need to bring them on your cruise. Car seats and boosters are priced when you book. Tell us each child's age and weight when you book.

Our own safety standard follows NHTSA guidance: children ride in the back seat through age 12, rear-facing as long as possible, and in a booster until the seat belt fits. This is general information, not legal advice.

The drive is 42 to 45 miles on SR 528 (the Beachline) and takes about 45 to 60 minutes. The fastest way from Port Canaveral to MCO is a private vehicle that leaves as soon as your group is off the ship, because shared shuttles wait for fixed departure times.
