Disney to MCO: shuttle vs Uber vs a private van, per person

Rides home are priced three ways: per seat (Mears), per car (Uber, Lyft, taxi) or per vehicle (JOB). For 2 to 4 people, a shared shuttle is usually cheapest. At the rates above, one JOB vehicle costs less per person than an adult Mears Connect seat at 6 riders and from 10 up.

Mears totals use its resort-to-airport fare of $16 per adult plus the 6% fuel surcharge (about $16.96). Children 3 to 9 pay $13 plus the surcharge; under 3 ride free. Uber and Lyft ranges are third-party estimates that can reach $120 to $180+ in a surge, though Disney Tourist Blog reports $25 to $35 before tip on early-morning or midweek departures. Checked October 2026.

The honest read: couples and families of 4 often pay less on Mears or an off-peak Uber. A private ride pays off with bigger groups, car seats, or a flight that doesn't fit the shuttle's schedule. See our Mears Connect guide.

When will we leave our resort? Mears Connect vs a private pickup

Mears Connect schedules resort departures about 3 hours before a domestic flight and 4 before an international one. With JOB, you pick the time when you book.

Mears sets your departure the day before and sends the boarding pass 23 hours ahead; be at the Airport Shuttle Departure sign 10 to 15 minutes early, because drivers can't wait for latecomers, and Mears doesn't generally move pickups for flight delays. A direct 25 to 45 minute ride gives part of that morning back for one more swim or a slower breakfast. Flight changed? Call or text us as soon as you know.

Disney's official rideshare pickups are the Marketplace Loop near Disney's Wonderful World of Memories and the West Side Bus and Rideshare Loop next to the Strawberry parking lot; we confirm your pickup point when you book.

LYNX Link 311 leaves the Disney Springs Transfer Center for MCO Terminal A, about 55 to 60 minutes with stops on the 2024 timetable. More in our Disney Springs transportation guide.

Checkout day: luggage, a last swim and a late flight

With an evening flight, you may have hours between checkout and your airport ride. Three ways to handle the bags:

  1. Disney's Airport Luggage Transfer (a pilot) runs only at All-Star Movies, Music and Sports, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach and Pop Century, for domestic flights on American, JetBlue, Southwest or United. Bags must reach Bell Services between 24 and 4 hours before your flight.
  2. Ask Bell Services whether it can hold your bags after checkout, and book your pickup for later in the day.
  3. Keep a vehicle with you: book an hourly private driver for lunch or Disney Springs, then MCO, from $79 an hour (minivan) to $109 an hour (14-passenger van), minimum 3 hours.

Not sure everything fits? Compare Uber XL luggage capacity vs an SUV or van.
