For 4 riders the cost is about even with the Disney Cruise Line bus, and every larger group pays less in one private vehicle. From 8 riders up it also beats the shared shuttle, and so does a full minivan of 6. A full 14-passenger van costs less than half of 14 bus seats. Under-3s ride the bus free, so count only riders aged 3 and up.

As Orlando International Airport's cruise-transfer page notes, taxis charge per trip while shuttles charge per person. For the full breakdown, read Disney Cruise Line transportation cost.

Which vehicle fits your group and your cruise luggage?

Up to 6 riders fit a minivan or SUV; 7 to 14 fit a Ford Transit van. After a cruise, count suitcases too.

  • 1 to 6 riders: a minivan, which fits your luggage, or an Expedition or Suburban SUV, which fits your luggage (we confirm the fit when you book).
  • 7 to 12 riders: the 12-passenger Ford Transit, which fits your luggage (we confirm the fit when you book).
  • 10 to 14 riders, or a big pile of bags: the 14-passenger Ford Transit, which fits your luggage (we confirm the fit when you book).
  • More than 14: a van plus an SUV, or two vans. See our private group van shuttle.

Traveling with little ones? We carry seats and boosters for each child's age and size, following NHTSA guidance: rear-facing as long as possible, a booster until the seat belt fits, and the back seat through age 12. More on car service with car seats.

Pickup at every Port Canaveral cruise terminal

Port Canaveral allows meet and greet only in designated areas, and at Cruise Terminal 8 it happens at the curb. The Port also requires every fare to be pre-arranged and pre-paid, so book before you sail.

Not sailing Disney? Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian and MSC

Disney's resort bus is only for Disney Cruise Line guests, so other lines' passengers staying at a Disney resort need another way to the ship.

Royal Caribbean

Most Royal Caribbean ships sail from Cruise Terminal 1; Explorer of the Seas uses Terminal 5. Royal Caribbean says guests who booked their own flights handle their own transfers, so a pre-booked ride from your resort straight to the terminal is simplest. Coming back, your color luggage tag sets your walk-off time, and we plan pickup around it.

Carnival

Carnival's Orlando transfers meet at Orlando International Airport, Terminal B, Level 1, on embarkation and debarkation days only. From a Disney resort you would have to reach the airport first. A private van goes straight to Terminal 3 or 6.

Norwegian and MSC

Norwegian sails from Terminals 5, 6 and 10 and asks guests to vacate staterooms by 8:00 AM on the last morning. MSC Seashore uses Terminal 10, and self-assist walk-off generally starts around 7:00 AM.

Getting to your Disney resort after the cruise

Most ships arrive at Port Canaveral between 6:00 and 7:00 AM. Disney Cruise Line ships typically return by 7:30 AM, with staterooms vacated by 8:00 AM. Tell us your ship and whether you will carry your own bags off, and we time the pickup to match.

You will likely reach your resort before your room is ready. Disney's Bell Services can hold your bags and deliver them later, so you can head straight to a park.

Disney World to Port Canaveral on embarkation day

Your cruise line assigns a port arrival time. Leave your Disney resort about 90 minutes before it: a 55 to 75 minute drive plus a traffic cushion. With a private ride, you choose the time.

Frequently asked questions

Sailing from Port Canaveral?

Call, text or WhatsApp us with your ship, sail date, resort and group size. We reply with a flat price.

How far is Port Canaveral from Disney World?

Port Canaveral is about 60 miles from the Walt Disney World area. The drive takes roughly 55 to 75 minutes via SR 417 and SR 528, the Beachline Expressway, both toll roads, depending on your resort and traffic.

Does Disney provide transportation from Port Canaveral to Disney World?

Only for Disney Cruise Line guests. Disney's motorcoach between the port and Disney resort hotels costs $45 per person each way for ages 3 and up and must be tied to a Disney Cruise Line reservation. Other cruisers need a shuttle, rideshare, rental car or private transfer.

What is the best way to get from Disney to Port Canaveral for a Royal Caribbean cruise?

Book a private ride from your Disney resort straight to Cruise Terminal 1, where most Royal Caribbean ships sail. Disney's bus is only for Disney Cruise Line guests, so a pre-booked SUV or van is the most direct option.

How much is an Uber from Port Canaveral to Disney World?

There is no published fare. Third-party estimates put an UberXL at $95 to $120 for the shorter 42 to 45 mile airport-to-port trip, with surges of 1.5 to 2 times on debarkation mornings. The Disney trip is longer, so expect to pay more, and an XL seats only 6.

What time can you pick us up after the cruise?

Most ships dock at Port Canaveral between 6:00 and 7:00 AM. We set your pickup around your ship's arrival and your walk-off plan, and your driver waits for you.

Can we stop at a grocery store or Kennedy Space Center on the way to Disney?

Yes. Grocery stops are available on the way (arranged when you book). Kennedy Space Center does not allow luggage inside, so ask us about a stop there when you book and we will tell you how we look after your bags.

Do you provide car seats and boosters?

Yes. We carry seats and boosters for each child's age and size, and car seats and boosters are priced when you book. Tell us each child's age and weight when you book so we bring the right seat.

Can 14 people and their cruise luggage fit in one van?

Our 14-passenger Ford Transit seats 14 and fits your luggage. Tell us your bag count when you book; if the bags outgrow one van, we can add an SUV.
