Does Orlando Have a Cruise Port? Your Orlando Cruise Port Guide to Port Canaveral

On this page

Short answer

No. Orlando is inland, so no cruise ship docks there. The "Orlando cruise port" is Port Canaveral, on the Atlantic coast 42 to 45 miles east of Orlando International Airport (MCO), about 45 to 60 minutes via SR 528. JOB Transportation drives families and groups there in minivans, SUVs and 12- and 14-passenger vans, from $159 per vehicle.

Why do cruise lines say "Port Canaveral (Orlando)"?

Because Orlando is the nearest big city and airport, and the name travelers recognize. Carnival, Princess, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean all list it as "Port Canaveral (Orlando)," but every terminal has a Cape Canaveral, FL 32920 address.

The Port calls itself "the closest port to Orlando and Central Florida theme parks." A few numbers worth knowing:

  • World's busiest cruise port: over 8.6 million revenue passenger movements in fiscal 2025.
  • Seven cruise lines: Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Disney Cruise Line, MSC, Princess, Celebrity and Norwegian.
  • 18 homeported ships across those seven brands.
  • Seven cruise terminals, split between the north (A) and south (B) sides of the harbor.

Is there an Orlando cruise terminal?

No. There is no cruise terminal anywhere in Orlando. When people search "Orlando cruise terminal," they usually mean one of two places:

  • Orlando International Airport (MCO), where the cruise-line buses and shared shuttles pick up. Carnival's meeting point, for example, is Terminal B, Level 1.
  • One of Port Canaveral's terminals, about an hour east (below).

A train won't get you to the ship: Brightline runs from the airport only to West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura and Miami, and no rail line reaches the cruise terminals. You ride by road on SR 528, the Beachline.

Port Canaveral cruise terminals: which one is yours?

Your boarding documents name your terminal. From SR 528 East, Exit 54A leads to the north-side terminals and Exit 54B to the south side.

Cruise shuttle from Orlando: every option compared

You have six ways to reach the port: a cruise-line bus, a shared shuttle, rideshare, a taxi, a rental car or a private minivan, SUV or van. MCO sums up the difference: "taxis charge per trip, while shuttles charge per person."

What does each option cost per person?

For four travelers, a shared shuttle is the cheapest seat. One JOB vehicle costs less per person than the Disney Cruise Line bus from 4 riders up, Carnival's bus from 5 riders up and Go Port at 6 riders and from 8 up, and the cheapest shared shuttle ($19.99) from 12 riders up.

What if you have hours to fill before your flight home?

Book a baggage hold and spend the gap at Kennedy Space Center or Cocoa Beach instead of the airport. Most ships dock between 6:00 and 7:00 AM, yet Disney Cruise Line lists 11:15 AM as its earliest MCO departure, and Carnival asks for flights at 12:50 PM or later.

Your suitcases can't come along: Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex prohibits "luggage and other large bags." Our baggage hold solves that: we collect you at the port, keep your bags while you visit Kennedy Space Center, Cocoa Beach or Jetty Park, then drive you to MCO at the time you planned around your flight.

Debarkation-day baggage hold by vehicle
VehiclePackage, up to several hoursPer person, full vehicle
Ford Expedition or Chevrolet Suburban SUV$249$41.50
Ford Transit 12-passenger van$349$29.08
Ford Transit 14-passenger van$379$27.07

Kennedy Space Center tickets are not included. Timing tips: the earliest flight after a Port Canaveral cruise. Details: our Port Canaveral baggage hold.
