How to Get from MCO to Disney World with a Group: Cost per Person for 4 to 14 Riders

On this page

Short answer

For a group of 7 to 14, the simplest way from MCO to Disney World is one private 12- or 14-passenger van: $159 per vehicle, or $12.79 each in a full 14-seat van. Mears Connect costs about $18.66 per adult with its fuel surcharge, and an UberXL or Minnie Van seats only 6. The direct drive is 18 to 25 miles and takes about 25 to 45 minutes, depending on your resort and traffic.

Below is how to get from MCO to Disney World for 4, 8, 12 and 14 riders, with totals, per-person costs and the logistics that trip up groups: split flights, luggage, car seats and the ride home.

Quick answer: the best transportation from Orlando airport to Disney by group size

  • 1 to 3 travelers, light bags: Mears Connect Standard or an UberX usually costs least.
  • 4 to 6 travelers: an UberXL, or a private minivan or SUV if you need car seats or carry full-size suitcases.
  • 7 to 14 travelers: one 12- or 14-passenger Ford Transit van. Everyone, every bag and every car seat arrives together.
  • 15 or more: ask about two vehicles, each at its own flat fare; we confirm both are free for your date.

Disney World airport transportation cost comparison by group size

For 12 or 14 riders, one private van costs less per person than everything in this table except off-peak Uber cars, and it beats those too once surge pricing starts. Only the public bus is cheaper. For 4 riders, a shared shuttle or one rideshare costs less.

Mears: official pricing, adult fares plus the 6% fuel surcharge (kids 3 to 9 pay $14.30 before surcharge; under-3s free). Minnie Van: about $249 each way per van in 2026, per our Minnie Van comparison and a July 2026 reader report. Uber: third-party estimates before tip. JOB: per vehicle, tolls and MCO airport fees included, gratuity optional. Disney's Magical Express bus ended on January 1, 2022.

How to read it honestly:

  • 4 riders: Mears or one UberXL is cheaper. Go private only for car seats, heavy luggage or a late arrival.
  • 8 riders: two off-peak UberXLs, Mears and a 12-passenger van land in the same range. The van keeps you together at a fixed price.
  • 12 to 14 riders: one Ford Transit is the lowest per-person price unless you get two or three surge-free XLs that all fit your bags.

When does a private van cost less than Mears Connect?

At the rates above, a private vehicle costs less than Mears Connect Standard once you have 6 adults for a minivan, 6 for an SUV, 9 for a 12-passenger van or 10 for a 14-passenger van. Across every group size, one JOB vehicle wins at 6 riders and from 9 up. To check your own group, divide the vehicle price by $18.66, the Mears adult fare with the fuel surcharge.

Kids 3 to 9 pay less on Mears, so groups with several young children reach the break-even a little later. For the shuttle itself, see what Mears Connect costs for a group.

Is there a bus from MCO to Disney?

There is no free Disney bus anymore. Disney's Magical Express ended on January 1, 2022, the day Mears Connect began, and Disney says airport transportation is not included with a resort stay. The Sunshine Flyer merged into Mears Connect on August 1, 2023. You have two paid bus options:

  • Mears Connect coaches: you check in as a party and board the next vehicle to your resort area. On MouseHacking's two trips, the bus left 15 to 17 minutes after check-in. One ride then took 29 minutes; on the other, the family was still one stop short of its resort after an hour.
  • LYNX public bus: Route 311 costs $2 a ride, takes about an hour, picks up at Terminal A only and ends at the Disney Springs Transfer Center. From there it is about a 10-minute walk to Disney's free resort buses. With 12 suitcases and two strollers, that transfer is hard work.

Uber from MCO to Disney: what it costs a group

One UberXL from MCO to Disney costs about $55 to $100+ before tip, and $120 to $180+ at peak surge, according to third-party estimates. Magic Guides reports a lower recent range of $50 to $70 for an XL to most Disney resorts. The catch for groups is the math of 6 seats:

  • 7 to 12 riders need two XLs, and 13 or 14 need three. Each car is priced, surged and tipped separately.
  • Cars arrive apart. Half the group may reach the resort while the other half waits at the curb.
  • Luggage runs out first. With all 6 seats filled, there is little room behind the third row. See how much luggage fits in an UberXL.
  • Car seats are limited. Each Uber car-seat ride carries just one.

How to get from MCO to Disney World with a group, step by step

  1. Count seats, not just people. A baby in a car seat still takes a seat, so a group of 7 has already outgrown an UberXL or a Minnie Van.
  2. Count every bag. Add suitcases, carry-ons, strollers and any car seats you bring, then match the vehicle. Driving yourselves? Compare renting a 15-passenger van vs a van with a driver.
  3. Line up the flights. Terminals A and B are 525 feet apart in one building; to reach Terminal C, take the Terminal Link train and walk about 1,200 feet through Garage C, or ride the 24-hour shuttle bus. Send us every flight number when you book.
  4. Pick one meeting point. Bag claim is on Level 2 in Terminals A and B and Level 6 in Terminal C, where C's Meet and Greet Area is. MCO suggests allowing 20 minutes after landing, or 40 with checked bags. See our MCO Terminal C pickup guide.
  5. Plan your stops. Most groups want water, snacks and breakfast before the first park day. Tell us if your group is split across two resorts.
  6. Book the ride home now. Mears schedules resort pickups about 3 hours before a domestic flight, and its drivers cannot wait for late passengers. With a private van you choose the time; MCO recommends reaching security 2 hours before departure. Book a Disney resort to airport van together with your arrival; round trips save a step.

When a private van wins, and when it doesn't

The best Disney transportation from the airport for a group is a private van when two or more of these are true:

  • You are 7 to 14 people and want to arrive together.
  • You have two or more children who need car seats or boosters.
  • You land late at night or at a peak time, when surge pricing is likely. We drive by reservation (call or WhatsApp to check your time).
  • You carry strollers, golf bags or a week of luggage per person.
  • Grandparents or tired kids should skip the shuttle line and the resort-by-resort stops.
  • Someone in the group is more comfortable in Spanish.

It is not the better buy for 1 to 3 people traveling light. Mears Connect or an UberX costs less, and we would rather tell you that. Staying at a Deluxe resort? Compare the Minnie Van cost per person for big groups.

Frequently asked questions

Bringing a group to Disney?

Call, text or WhatsApp us with your flights, resort, group size and bag count. We reply with a flat price.

How do I get from Orlando airport to Disney World with a large group?

For 7 to 14 people, book one private 12- or 14-passenger van so the whole group, its luggage and any car seats ride together. A JOB Ford Transit is $159 for up to 12 riders and $179 for up to 14, one way per vehicle, with tolls and airport fees included.

What is the cheapest way to get from Orlando airport to Disney for a group of 8?

Mears Connect Standard (about $149 for 8 adults) or two off-peak UberXLs ($110 to $200+) can cost the least on paper. A 12-passenger van at $159, or $19.88 each, costs about the same at a fixed price and keeps everyone together.

Is there a free bus from MCO to Disney World?

No. Disney's Magical Express ended on January 1, 2022, and Disney says airport transportation is not included with a Disney Resort hotel stay. The shared alternative is Mears Connect at $17.60 per adult plus a 6% fuel surcharge.

Can Disney's Minnie Van take a group of 10?

Not in one vehicle. A Minnie Van seats up to 6 and its airport service is only for Deluxe, Deluxe Villa and Club Level guests, so a group of 10 would need two vans, at about $249 each way per van in 2026.

How long does it take to get from MCO to Disney World?

A direct ride covers 18 to 25 miles and takes about 25 to 45 minutes with no stops, depending on your resort and traffic. Mears Connect says its shared shuttle takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your hotel, traffic and the number of stops.

What if our group lands on different flights?

Send us every flight number when you book, and we plan the pickup around them. MCO suggests allowing about 40 minutes after landing when you have checked bags.

Do you provide car seats for a group with several children?

Yes, on request: tell us each child's age and weight when you book. By comparison, an Uber car-seat ride carries one seat and a Minnie Van includes up to two.

One flat price per vehicle for up to 14 people, tolls included. Send your flights, resort and group size and we confirm the rest.
