Spring Break in Orlando With a Big Group: Airport, Parks and Getting Everyone There Together
On this page
Short answer
Spring break fills Orlando from late February into late April, and MCO's busiest days in 2026 were March 12 to 16, with about 212,000 travelers on March 15. For a group of 7 to 14, book one van before you book park days, send every flight number, and reserve a free MCO Reserve security slot for the flight home. A private van from MCO to Disney is $99 to $179 per vehicle.

When is spring break in Orlando in 2027?
There's no single week. Each school district sets its own, so Orlando stays busy for weeks. Easter falls on March 28, 2027, which pulls many breaks into late March. Published 2027 dates for four districts:
| District | Spring break 2027 |
|---|---|
| Orange County Public Schools (Orlando) | March 15 to 19, 2027 (March 12 is also a student holiday) |
| Chicago Public Schools | March 22 to 26, 2027 |
| Columbus City Schools, Ohio | March 26 to April 2, 2027 |
| New York City Public Schools | April 22 to 30, 2027 (Good Friday, March 26, closed too) |
From each district's 2026-27 calendar. Check your own district before you book flights.
Orlando's own schools break March 15 to 19, the same mid-March week many northern families arrive, so local traffic and the parks are busy too.
How busy MCO gets during spring break
MCO published its 2026 spring break forecast on March 10, 2026. The airport expected:
- More than 7.4 million passengers in a 46-day window ending April 7, 8% more than 2025, itself a record.
- Nearly 53,000 flights in and out.
- The busiest days March 12 to 16, peaking at about 212,000 travelers on Sunday, March 15.
A group of 12 landing on a Saturday in mid-March meets the airport at its fullest: long security lines on the way home, and crowded curbs on the way in.
Getting a big group through MCO
- Book MCO Reserve for the flight home. It's a free time slot through security for your whole party, at Terminals A, B and C, bookable up to 7 days ahead, for travelers without TSA PreCheck or CLEAR. Slots are limited.
- Arrive three hours early for departures, as MCO asks during spring break, and be at the security checkpoint two hours before your flight.
- Pack light. MCO's own spring break advice, and it matters more when 12 people each bring a suitcase.
- Know your terminal. Bags come out on Level 2 in Terminals A and B and on Level 6 in Terminal C. Our Terminal C pickup guide walks through it.
Keeping the group together from the gate to the villa
A group on different flights lands at different times, sometimes in different terminals. The plan that keeps everyone together:
- Send every flight number to whoever picks you up, so the pickup follows the last flight in.
- Pick one meeting point at baggage claim and one person who holds the group there until everyone has bags.
- Count vehicles, not seats. UberXL and UberXXL each seat 6, so a group of 12 needs two cars and two pickups. One Uber account can request up to three rides, but each must start before the next is requested.
| Group | UberXL or UberXXL | Disney parking with rental cars | JOB |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 people | 2 cars | 2 cars, $70 a day | One Ford Transit 12-passenger van |
| 8 people | 2 cars | 2 cars, $70 a day | One Ford Transit 12-passenger van |
| 10 people | 2 cars | 2 cars, $70 a day | One Ford Transit 12-passenger van |
| 12 people | 2 cars | 2 cars, $70 a day | One Ford Transit 12-passenger van |
| 14 people | 3 cars | 3 cars, $105 a day | One Ford Transit 14-passenger van |
Disney parking at $35 a day per car for day guests. Guests at Disney Resort hotels park free.

Park days with a big group
- Disney: day guests pay $35 a day per car, or $40 for an oversized vehicle. One fee covers all four theme parks that day, but Disney doesn't guarantee a space if you leave and come back. Guests at Disney Resort hotels get standard parking and free Disney buses.
- Universal: regular parking is $35, prime $50 to $60, and parking is free after 6 PM on nights without Halloween Horror Nights.
- A drop-off instead: a private van drops the group at the entrance and picks everyone up at an agreed time, so nobody walks back to a lot with tired children.

Renting a 15-passenger van for the week
It's the obvious way to keep a group together, and it carries real risk. NHTSA says 15-passenger vans "should only be driven by experienced, licensed drivers who operate this type of vehicle on a regular basis," and that they handle differently from cars when full.
- Belts: 69% of 15-passenger van occupants killed in crashes from 2010 to 2019 were known not to be wearing one.
- Luggage: keep cargo ahead of the rear axle and never on the roof.
- The driver spends the trip driving, parking and finding the group, instead of on the ride.
Rental terms, toll programs and the full cost are in 15-passenger van rental vs a van with a driver.
Sports teams, school trips and church groups
Sports teams, school trips and church groups need the same planning, plus paperwork. Disney runs school programs through Disney Imagination Campus and books large parties through its group sales line. For the rides:
- A 12-passenger van fits a 10-player roster and two coaches. See our team and event group transportation.
- We carry $1,000,000 in liability insurance, and our USDOT number is 4455433, for groups that need to check a carrier.
- Bigger than 14? Ask us about two vehicles on the same schedule.
What a spring break group pays for a van
We charge one flat price per vehicle, not per person, tolls included. MCO to a Disney resort is $99 to $179 per vehicle one way, so a full 14-passenger van works out to about $13 each. MCO to Universal and International Drive is $89 to $165.
| Vehicle | Seats | Suitcases |
|---|---|---|
Minivan | Up to 6 | Ask us |
Ford Expedition or Chevrolet Suburban SUV | Up to 6 | Ask us |
Ford Transit 12-passenger van | Up to 12 | Ask us |
Ford Transit 14-passenger van | Up to 14 | Ask us |

Why spring break groups book JOB
- One van for 7 to 14 people, so the group leaves MCO together, with an enclosed luggage trailer on request.
- Inside the terminal with a name sign, so the group has one place to find us.
- Car seats and boosters on request for the youngest travelers.
- Family-run: riders know Pedro and his family by name. Hablamos español.
He has a 14 seater and a trailer for the luggage. He's very reliable and reasonably priced.
