Hotels Near Universal Studios Orlando With Shuttle Service (2026 Guide)
On this page
Short answer
Every Universal on-site hotel runs free shuttle buses every 10 to 30 minutes. Off-site partner hotels such as Drury Inn & Suites run free scheduled shuttles, typically 1 to 4 trips each way, booked ahead. None of these park shuttles serve MCO, about 16 miles away. A private minivan, SUV or 12- or 14-passenger van from MCO starts at $89 per vehicle.

Do Universal's on-site hotels have a free shuttle?
Yes. Every Universal Orlando Resort hotel runs a free shuttle bus throughout the day to CityWalk, Volcano Bay and Epic Universe. Rides take about 10 to 20 minutes, and from CityWalk you walk to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.
| Universal hotel | Free shuttle bus | Other free options |
|---|---|---|
| Stella Nova Resort, Terra Luna Resort | Every 10 minutes | Stella Nova is a 5 to 10 minute walk to Epic Universe's Chronos gate |
| Helios Grand Hotel | Every 10 minutes (no bus to Epic Universe) | Its own entrance into Epic Universe |
| Endless Summer (Surfside and Dockside), Cabana Bay, Aventura | Every 15 minutes | Cabana Bay and Aventura have a walking path to Volcano Bay |
| Portofino Bay, Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific, Sapphire Falls | Every 30 minutes | Water taxi to CityWalk in under 10 minutes; Sapphire Falls also has a walking path to Volcano Bay |
In replies to readers, Universal says these buses start about one hour before Early Park Admission and typically run until CityWalk is clear of guests at night. That frequent, all-day service is the biggest difference from off-site shuttles.
How do Universal Partner Hotel shuttles work?
Universal Partner Hotels are off-site hotels chosen for "quality, reputation and proximity," and their Bonus Benefits include "Free Scheduled transportation" to the Universal parks, as Drury's partner page lists them. Scheduled is the key word: these buses leave at set times, not every few minutes.
- Few departures: typically 1 to 4 trips in the morning and 1 to 4 back in the evening, per Magic Guides.
- Reservations: usually in person, often no more than 24 to 48 hours ahead, and seats can run out.
- Early entry: partner-hotel guests get Early Park Admission only when they book a Universal vacation package that bundles the room and tickets, per Magic Guides.
- Late nights: the last bus back may leave before late-night events such as Halloween Horror Nights end. Hyatt House's last listed return, for example, is 8:00 p.m.
Which hotels near Universal have a free shuttle and breakfast?
Drury Inn & Suites near Universal Orlando Resort is the clearest match. Drury's official page lists a free shuttle to all Universal theme parks, including Epic Universe, and a free hot breakfast every day.
- Breakfast: 6 to 9:30 a.m. on weekdays and 7 to 10 a.m. on weekends.
- Evening: the free 5:30 Kickback serves hot food and drinks from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
- Location: 7301 West Sand Lake Road, 2.0 miles from Universal and 15.0 miles from Orlando International Airport (MCO).
Magic Guides also lists free breakfast with a free partner-hotel shuttle at Hyatt Place Orlando, Home2 Suites by Hilton Orlando Near Universal, Embassy Suites Orlando, Residence Inn near Universal Orlando and Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando. Ask each hotel to confirm both perks for your dates.
Which hotels have a shuttle to Epic Universe?
Drury, Westgate Palace, Westgate Lakes and Avanti International all name Epic Universe on their own shuttle pages. Universal's on-site hotels go there too, except Helios Grand, which has its own park entrance.
Many other off-site shuttles stop only at CityWalk. From there, Universal's free inter-park bus reaches Epic Universe in about 10 to 15 minutes, according to Magic Guides. Our guide to the Epic Universe shuttle schedule covers drop-off and pickup in detail.
Are there hotels with a shuttle to both Universal and Disney?
A few. Avanti International Resort runs scheduled shuttles to Universal, Walt Disney World and SeaWorld. The Park Prodigy reports that Margaritaville Resort Orlando shuttles to all major Orlando theme parks and that Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress runs a Universal shuttle twice a day.
Splitting your stay instead? See our list of hotels near Disney World with a shuttle. For a Disney day on your own schedule, our Disney to Universal transfers run from $85 in an SUV for up to 6, or $135 for 14 people ($9.64 each).
What hotel shuttles to Universal won't do
Hotel shuttles suit a couple or small family happy to ride on the hotel's timetable. The hotels' own rules show their limits:
- No airport service: MCO's rate table lists "Hotel Shuttle: N/A" for the International Drive area.
- No luggage: Westgate's Universal shuttle bars luggage, oversized strollers and scooters, and Avanti's Disney and SeaWorld shuttle bars luggage too.
- No groups: Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando says its shuttle is "not valid for groups or special events," and Avanti's Disney and SeaWorld shuttle turns away groups of 10 or more.
- No guaranteed seat: Westgate says "service is not guaranteed," and Avanti says daytime reservations aren't guaranteed.
- SuperStar Shuttle limits: Universal's airport shuttle serves only Universal's own hotels. It costs $23 per adult and $21 per child (ages 3 to 9) one way, seats 25 and may stop at other hotels.
How do you get from MCO to a hotel near Universal?
You book a separate ride, because hotel park shuttles don't serve the airport. Universal is about 16 miles from MCO, roughly 20 to 30 minutes by road, and Drury, on West Sand Lake Road, lists 15 miles.
| Option | One-way price | How it's charged | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|
| LYNX bus (MCO estimate) | $2 | Per person | Shared |
| Shared shuttle van (MCO estimate) | $21 one way, $33 round trip per person | Per person, shared stops | Shared |
| Taxi (MCO estimate) | $38 to $45 | Per vehicle, metered | Varies |
| UberXL (third-party estimate) | About $35 to $110, depending on surge | Per car, dynamic | Up to 6 |
| JOB minivan or SUV | From $89 or $95 | One flat price per vehicle | Up to 6 |
| JOB 12- or 14-passenger Ford Transit | $145 or $165 | One flat price per vehicle | 12 or 14 |

| Ford Expedition or Chevrolet Suburban SUV | Up to 6 | $95 | $15.83 |
| Ford Transit 12-passenger van | Up to 12 | $145 | $12.08 |
| Ford Transit 14-passenger van | Up to 14 | $165 | $11.79 |
Prices are per vehicle and include tolls and airport fees; gratuity is optional. Round trips save a step. More detail is on our private ride from MCO to your Universal hotel page and the Orlando airport (MCO) ground transportation hub.
Shared shuttle vs UberXL vs private van: per-person math
One private vehicle costs less than shared-van seats at MCO's $21 fare from 5 riders up, and it keeps everyone and their bags together.
| Group size | Shared van at $21 each | UberXL, up to 6 per car | One JOB vehicle | JOB per person |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | $84 | 1 car, about $35 to $110 | Minivan, $89 | $22.25 |
| 6 | $126 | 1 car, about $35 to $110 | Minivan, $89 | $14.83 |
| 8 | $168 | 2 cars, about $70 to $220 | 12-passenger van, $145 | $18.13 |
| 10 | $210 | 2 cars, about $70 to $220 | 12-passenger van, $145 | $14.50 |
| 12 | $252 | 2 cars, about $70 to $220 | 12-passenger van, $145 | $12.08 |
| 14 | $294 | 3 cars, about $105 to $330 | 14-passenger van, $165 | $11.79 |
For 4 people the shared van is $5 cheaper but makes extra stops. An UberXL seats 6, but rarely 6 people's suitcases: see how much luggage fits in an Uber XL.
Park days for groups: when the hotel shuttle says no
If your hotel's shuttle won't take a group, or its last bus leaves before the fireworks, book your own ride to the parks.
- A drop-off and pickup: send your hotel, park and times and we quote a flat price for the whole group.
- An hourly driver: a 14-passenger van is $109 an hour, with a minimum of 3 hours. See our hourly private driver page.
- Late nights: we drive by reservation (call or WhatsApp to check your time). Universal's taxi pickup and drop-off is on the 5th floor of the CityWalk North Parking Structure.
Group of 7 to 14? See our private 12- or 14-passenger group van.
What JOB adds that a hotel shuttle can't
- Meet and greet at MCO: your driver waits inside the terminal with a name sign (quoted with your ride).
- Room for your bags: luggage rides with you in the 14-passenger van; tell us your bag count and we confirm the fit.
- Car seats and boosters: we carry seats and boosters for each child's age and size, and they are priced when you book. It's our safety standard, following NHTSA guidance; see our car service with car seats.
- A grocery stop on the way to your hotel: arranged when you book.
- Spanish-speaking drivers: hablamos español.
- One price for the whole group: a 12- or 14-passenger van keeps 7 to 14 people and their bags together.
- Insured and maintained: $1,000,000 in liability insurance, and every vehicle inspected and maintained.
