Families, car seats and airports
Car Seat Rental Orlando and MCO Airport: 4 Options Compared
On this page
Short answer
Need a car seat rental? Orlando families have four options. Add a seat to your car rental at Orlando International Airport (MCO) from about $14 a day. Rent one from a baby-gear delivery service from $3 to $8 a day plus delivery. Fly with your own seat, often checked free. Or book a private ride with seats, from $99 per vehicle.
We're a family-run Orlando transportation company that brings car seats on our rides, so we're option 4 below. We still lay out every option fairly, using prices each company publishes on its own website, checked on October 3, 2026.
Car seat rental Orlando options at a glance
| Option | Typical cost | Who installs the seat | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Rental car counter at MCO (Hertz, Avis, Enterprise) | Hertz from $13.99 a day; Avis about $14 a day, up to $84 per rental | You | Families driving most days, such as from a vacation home |
| 2. Baby-gear delivery (BabyQuip, Babies Getaway, Cloud of Goods, Babonbo) | From $3 to $8 a day per seat, plus delivery and taxes | You, unless the provider offers setup | Families who want a specific seat model, or a crib and stroller too |
| 3. Bring your own seat | Free to check on some airlines, including Delta | You | Under-2s with their own plane ticket; kids who sleep best in their own seat |
| 4. Private ride with seats (JOB) | From $99 per vehicle; car seats are priced when you book | Arranged with us when you book | Disney Resort hotel stays without a car, and groups of 7 to 14 |
Option 1: Can you rent a car seat at the Orlando airport car rental counter?
Yes. Hertz, Avis and Enterprise all add infant seats, toddler seats and boosters to a car rental, but you install the seat yourself. Booking an Orlando car rental with a car seat? Reserve the seat with the car, because availability varies by location.
| Company | Car seat price, October 2026 | Seat types and limits | Installation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hertz | From $13.99 per day, varies by location | Infant seat for babies under 1, up to 20 lb and 26 in; child seat for 20 to 40 lb and up to 40 in; booster for 40 to 80 lb | Staff cannot install; instructions provided |
| Avis | Usually $14 per day, up to $84 per rental; may vary by location | Rear-facing and convertible infant seats, forward-facing toddler seats, boosters | Evenflo seats for LATCH-ready cars; you install |
| Enterprise | Shown when you book | Infant, child and booster seats | Staff cannot install; directions provided |
What to know before you add seats to an Orlando car rental:
- No car, no seat at Avis. Avis won't rent a car seat without a vehicle, and it charges $50 if a seat isn't returned to the location it came from.
- Small infant limits at Hertz. Hertz's infant seat tops out at 20 lb and 26 inches. For a bigger baby, ask whether the 20 to 40 lb child seat can face the rear, as NHTSA advises.
- Fees add up per seat, per day. Two seats for 7 rental days at Hertz's starting rate come to $195.86 before tax.
- You install it in the rental car garage. Use either the lower anchors or the seat belt, never both, plus the top tether on a forward-facing seat when the seat and car allow it (NHTSA).
Option 2: Orlando car seat rentals delivered to MCO or your hotel
Local baby-gear companies deliver car seats to MCO, Orlando Sanford (SFB), hotels and vacation homes, often for less per day than the rental counter.
| Service | What we found on its Orlando page, October 2026 |
|---|---|
| BabyQuip | Infant or convertible seat from $8 a day; harnessed booster from $6 a day; high-back booster from $4 a day; backless booster from $3 a day. Rates exclude taxes, delivery and fees. Providers can deliver to the airport. Seats must have been bought new, and are retired after their expiration date or a crash. |
| Babies Getaway | 3-day minimum on all rentals; order at least 3 to 4 days ahead; gear is scanned for recalls before and after every rental. |
| Cloud of Goods | MCO delivery and pickup from 8 AM to 10 PM. Rear-facing infant seat (4 to 35 lb), convertible (5 to 40 lb rear-facing, 20 to 65 lb forward-facing) and booster (40 to 90 lb). |
| Babonbo | A marketplace of local providers; airport pickup listed for MCO and SFB. |
The catch with airport delivery:
- Plan ahead. Delivery fees, time windows and minimums differ by provider, so get the meeting spot in writing.
- You still need a ride. An UberXL from MCO to the Disney area runs about $55 to $100+ each way (third-party estimates, October 2026), and you install the rented seat at the curb before you leave.
- Thinking of Uber's own seat option? Read how Uber Car Seat works in Orlando before you count on it.
Option 3: Should you bring your own car seat on the plane?
Often, yes: it's usually the cheapest choice, and your child rides in a seat they know. The FAA says the safest place for a child under 2 on a plane is an approved child restraint, not a parent's lap.
- Check the label. To use it on board, the seat must say "This restraint is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft."
- Buy your under-2 a ticket. It's the only way to be sure you can use the seat on the plane.
- Boosters can't be used for takeoff. The FAA bars booster seats and backless seats during taxi, takeoff and landing.
- Or check it free. Delta checks child safety seats and strollers free at the curb, ticket counter or gate, and they don't count toward your bag allowance. Other airlines set their own rules, so check yours.
The trade-off: you carry the seat through MCO with your bags and kids. If you check it, look it over at baggage claim.
Option 4: Skip the rental and book a ride with car seats
Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel without plans to drive? You may not need a rental car or a rented seat at all. Airport transportation isn't included with a resort stay, but resort guests ride Disney buses, the monorail and boats free once they arrive. Car seats and boosters are our safety standard for young riders, following NHTSA guidance:
- Tell us about each child. Share each child's age, weight and height when you book. We carry seats and boosters for each child's age and size, and car seats are priced when you book.
- Meet your driver inside the terminal with a name sign at MCO.
- One flat price per vehicle. Tolls and airport fees are included, and gratuity is optional.
- Extras families use: a grocery stop on the way, on request; Spanish-speaking drivers; $1,000,000 in liability insurance.
| Vehicle | Riders | Car seats that fit | MCO to Disney resorts | MCO to Universal or I-Drive | Per person to Disney |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minivan | Up to 6 | Ask us | $99 | $89 | $24.75 with 4 riders |
| Ford Expedition or Chevrolet Suburban SUV | Up to 6 | Ask us | $109 | $95 | $21.80 with 5 riders |
| Ford Transit 12-passenger van | Up to 12 | Ask us | $159 | $145 | $15.90 with 10 riders |
| Ford Transit 14-passenger van | Up to 14 | Ask us | $179 | $165 | $12.79 with 14 riders |
Prices are one way, per vehicle. Round trips save a step.
How this compares with other rides from MCO:
- Disney's Minnie Van takes up to 2 car seats, and its airport service is only for Deluxe, Deluxe Villa and Club Level guests.
- Mears Connect says car seats aren't required on its motorcoach buses and keeps only a limited number in its shuttle vans.
- Our 12- and 14-passenger Ford Transit vans carry families traveling together in one vehicle; tell us how many car seats you need when you book.

Best service ever. They deserve to be recognized. Nicest family you'll ever meet.
What does a week of car seats cost? Rental car vs a ride with seats
Two rented seats for 7 days cost $168 at Avis or from $195.86 at Hertz before tax, and that's on top of the car itself. A family at a Disney Resort hotel that doesn't need a car can swap both for one round-trip ride with seats, from $198 in a minivan. Example: 2 adults and 2 kids (a 2-year-old in a convertible seat, a 5-year-old in a high-back booster), 7 nights at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
| Plan | Car seats for 7 days | Parking at a Disney Resort hotel | Getting to and from MCO |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rental car and Avis seats | $168 (2 seats, each at the $84 cap) | Overnight self-parking is free; standard theme park parking is included | You drive; car rental, gas and tolls extra |
| Rental car and Hertz seats | From $195.86 (2 seats, 7 days, $13.99), before tax | Same as above | Same as above |
| Baby-gear delivery (BabyQuip from-rates) | From $84 ($8 plus $4 a day for 7 days), plus delivery and taxes | No car | UberXL about $55 to $100+ each way; you install the seats |
| Bring your own seats | $0 to check on Delta | No car, or a rental car | You still need a ride or a rental car |
| JOB round trip in a minivan | Car seats are priced when you book | No car | $198 for both legs, before any round-trip saving |
The Avis row assumes the $84 cap applies to each seat; Avis notes prices may vary by location. Parking figures come from Disney's parking page.
When the math flips toward a rental car:
- Staying off-site. Guests who aren't at a Disney Resort hotel pay $35 a day for standard theme park parking. At the Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve, registered guests pay $40 a day plus tax to self-park. If you'll drive most days, a rental car and its seats earn their keep.
- A big group renting a big van. Before you rent one, read renting a 15-passenger van vs a van with a driver.
Is a rented car seat safe? NHTSA's 5-point checklist
A rented seat can be safe if it passes the same checks NHTSA gives for any second-hand seat. Before you buckle your child in, confirm each point on NHTSA's used car seat checklist:
- The seat has never been in a moderate or severe crash.
- Its labels show the date of manufacture and the model number. You need both to check recalls and the seat's age.
- It has no open recalls. Search the brand and model in NHTSA's recall lookup.
- All of its parts are there.
- The instruction manual comes with it, or the provider can get you one.
Also check the expiration date printed on the seat, and match the seat to your child. NHTSA advises keeping kids rear-facing as long as the seat allows, then using a booster until the lap belt sits across the upper thighs and the shoulder belt across the chest. Kids should ride in the back seat at least through age 12.
Driving a rental car in Florida? State law requires a crash-tested, federally approved child restraint for children 5 and younger. Through age 3 that means a separate carrier or integrated seat; at ages 4 and 5, a carrier, integrated seat or booster (Fla. Stat. 316.613). Read more in our guide to Florida car seat law for visitors. This is general information, not legal advice.
